What is Responsible Travel? Sunset
The Tourism industry is one of the world's largest industries and provides jobs to over 230 million people, accounting simultaneously for more than 10% of the world GDP. Amazing statistics, but it also has a downside. Tourism industry also brings a lot of negative effects on the travel destinations. Large parts of the revenues do not stay in the local economy but ends up in other countries, local cultures are pushed aside, nature and wildlife is being abused in a non-sustainable way and environment is suffering degradation.

Tourism can play a crucial role in countries' economic growth and for many developing countries, it’s the most important factor for social and economic development, creates employment, develops infrastructure and increase the country's export revenues, which improves the living standards of its people.

By selecting suppliers that work sustainably and with a long term vision, making use of such items locally owned hotels and local guides, we can ensure that the leakage is reduced. At the same time nature, culture and wildlife is preserved. We are guests in these countries and need to show respect and empathy.

This is Responsible Tourism according to us. It is about ensuring that the money that tourism brings, stays, favors and preserve the country, so that generations after us can experience the same wonderful places that we visit today. We must take responsibility and maintain what actually attracts us there from the very beginning, namely, nature, culture and wildlife.

In short, it's not harder than that. Responsibility speaks its clear language, and it is based on mutual respect and empathy.
